Two people, three dogs killed in fire after car crashes on Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana
LAKE COUNTY, Indiana — Two people and three dogs died after a car crashed and caught fire on Interstate 65 Sunday morning. Northwest Indianaaccording to the Indiana State Police.
According to an initial investigation, ISP trooper James Brasseur said in a press release that the driver exited the interstate and hit a tree near State Route 2 around 7 a.m.
Brasseur said the car caught fire after it hit a tree. Witnesses were able to get the driver out of the car, but not the passengers.
Brasseur said the driver, passenger and three dogs died in the accident.
Their identities have not been released by the Lake County coroner’s office.
