Toddler has serious problems after being shot near forest in park

PARK FOREST, Illinois — A 2-year-old is critically ill in hospital after being shot in the abdomen on Friday.

Police say it’s currently unclear whether the child was shot accidentally or intentionally, and where in the park’s woods the shooting took place.

Park Forest Police Department and detectives are conducting an investigation with assistance from the Southern Suburbs Serious Crimes Task Force.
