Teenage girl finds bones while swimming in OR River: Cops
Authorities say a teenage girl found her skeletal remains while swimming in an Oregon river this summer.
Police are now trying to identify the human remains.
The body was found on August 27th. Deschutes River in Bend Bend Police said in a September 27 news release that the body was confirmed to be human by the coroner’s office.
A police diving team found more bodies in the water the next day, officials said.
Police said the body was believed to have been in the water for more than a year and was likely the same person.
Oregon coroners are working to identify the remains through DNA testing.
