PARK FOREST, Illinois — The school bus driver who struck and killed a 7-year-old boy in Park Forest last month as he ran next to his bus was accused of not having the proper license at the time of the incident. I am facing a lawsuit.
The driver was charged with driving a commercial vehicle with the CDL revoked because the CDL and school bus driver’s approval was revoked on Jan. 8 by failing to provide the required medical paperwork to the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State. was indicted on
Detectives examined evidence, including video, toxicology results, and electronic data to ensure the driver was not distracted by electronic devices or interviews, but the driver showed no signs that the child had been beaten. I said it wasn’t.
Police said the child was running alongside the bus and moved to the front of the bus after the driver turned the corner from the terminus.
Driver is scheduled to appear in court on March 31.
