CHICAGO — More than 50 pets rescued from Hurricane Ian in Florida will arrive in Chicago on Tuesday.
PAWS Chicago mobilized volunteers in hurricane-hit areas to rescue dozens of homeless pets from shelters.
The organization partnered with the Humane Society Naples, which had served as a nerve center for animals from several local shelters, but had to close due to the loss of power, water and staff.
Once these pets are medically cleared, they are available for adoption at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center.
PAWS Chicago will be returning to Florida soon to help rescue more pets.
