Park Ridge, Illinois — New plans for Park Ridge’s historic Pickwick Theater have been announced.
The longtime owner of a vintage theater built in 1928 is retiring in December. They will retain ownership of this landmark building, but it will operate in partnership with the non-profit Copernicus Foundation.
The foundation plans to introduce live entertainment, such as concerts and other performances, into the main auditorium. The auditorium is now called “Copernicus@The Pickwick”.
The four theaters behind the building will continue to show films.
The foundation also operates the Copernicus Center on Lawrence Avenue in Chicago’s Jefferson Park neighborhood.
