NYC woman sentenced to 21 years for attempted cheesecake poisoning with look-alike friend
A Brooklyn woman convicted of trying to kill her lookalike friend with a poisoned cheesecake was sentenced Wednesday to 21 years in prison. CBS New York’s Jesse Zanger reports.
Victoria Nasirova 47 years old He was convicted of attempted murder in February.
the prosecutor said she Tried to kill Olga Svyk He had cheesecake laced with potentially deadly drugs so that he could steal Svik’s identity, passport and other documents and return to Russia.
Prosecutors said Nasirova visited the then-35-year-old victim’s Queens apartment in 2016 and had cheesecake. At the time, the two looked very much alike, both had dark hair, had similar complexions, and spoke Russian.
The district attorney said Suvik vomited and had hallucinations after eating the cake, but survived.
In court Wednesday, Svyk said, “It was easy for her to try to take someone else’s life. It was easy for her to gain their trust.”
After the sentencing, she said, “I’ve been waiting years to say that…it feels good.”
At sentencing, the judge called Nasirova very dangerous.
