Malibu Barbie Cafe pop-up opens in Chicago

Just in time for the highly-anticipated Barbie feature film based on Mattel’s iconic doll to open July 21, fans of all pink will be able to visit the Barbie-themed Malibu Barbie Café, which just opened. You can celebrate with delicious food, cocktails, selfies, and more. Held a pop-up in Chicago.

‘Experienced Restaurant’ at 324 S. Racine on the West Loop (Bucket Listers, created by the Bucket Listers team) golden girls kitchen Saved by the Max) conveys the beach vibe of 1970s California and inspired the 1971 Malibu Barbie doll.

The fast-casual pop-up menu, conceived by ‘Master Chef’ semi-finalist Becky Brown, offers brunch, burgers, fries, shakes, desserts and cocktails throughout the day. Expect menu items like the Beach Burger, Pacific Paradise Rainbow Pancakes, Golden Coast CALI Flower Bowl, and West Coast Wave Wedge Salad.

There are plenty of Barbie-themed merchandise for purchase, as well as countless selfie spots, including a life-size Barbie doll box and, of course, a Barbie pink retro rotary payphone.

“Barbie has proven to be one of history’s ultimate icons, and we couldn’t pass up this chance to bring her world to life,” said CEO and founder of Bucketlisters. Andy Lederman said in an official release.

Patrons can also enjoy roller skating onsite during their meal for $1 per person (ages 5 and up). A limited supply of beach-inspired skating/safety equipment is available in the outdoor rink area (bring your own skates is recommended). All proceeds from the skating experience go to Girls Inc. of Chicago“an organization that offers life-changing programs and experiences that inspire girls to be strong, smart and bold enough to overcome challenges.”
