Indiana man arrested after seeing toddler playing with guns
BEACH GROVE, Indiana (AP) — An Indiana man faces criminal charges after a toddler was seen holding a handgun and pulling the trigger outside his apartment without firing a bullet .
Indianapolis television station WXIN, Citing a police report by the Beech Grove Police Department, a 45-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for felony neglect of dependents, he said.
Live footage of the arrest was filmed and broadcast by a reality TV show called “On Patrol: Live,” which follows law enforcement officers on duty, the station confirmed.
It wasn’t immediately clear what drove the police to the apartment, but video of boy playing A security camera captured him holding a gun, which was seized during a police investigation, the station said.
The boy, who has not been named, is wielding a gun and pulling the trigger. He did not appear to have been harmed.
Police also seized a semi-automatic Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol, the agency said. The gun had no bullets in its chamber, but had 15 rounds in its magazine.
Beech Grove Police did not immediately respond to AP’s request for additional information.
The man is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
