Five $1 million lottery wins in Illinois remain unclaimed

Illinois – The clock is ticking for the five millionaires who made the lottery in Illinois to claim their winnings.

According to the Illinois Lottery, 2 Mega Millions tickets, 2 Lucky Day lotto tickets and 1 lottery ticket are all worth at least $1 million and have not yet been claimed. websiteWinners have one (1) year from the draw date to forfeit their winnings.

All five tickets were for 2023 and were sold at the locations listed on the following dates:

• April 15 Mega Millions – Circle K, 460 S. Mclean Blvd. Elgin, IL 60123

In addition, Jackpots worth at least $100,000 and 5 prizes from the Daily Games list are also listed as unclaimed. This includes his $150,021 Powerball ticket purchased in June 2022.

Unclaimed prizes will be donated to the state’s Common School Fund at the end of the one-year period, said Amy Shanks of Camelot Illinois, which operates the Illinois lottery system.

But as the Association of Illinois School Boards points out, this publication, lottery contributions to the fund are capped at inflation-adjusted 2009 levels. This means that once that amount is reached each year, all additional lottery earnings directed to the common school fund will be diverted elsewhere.
