Admission fee waived on the first day of National Park Week

(KTVX) – In honor of National Parks Week, admission fees to all US National Parks will be waived on the first day of the festivities.

The nine-day celebration begins on April 22nd and runs through April 30th, allowing visitors who were unable to attend on the first day to attend online and in-person events.

In it, National Park Service staff ask attendees to share their “park stories” on social media. NPS encourages participants to use the hashtag #MyParkStory to tell stories about their special connection to national parks. To keep inspiration flowing, NPS will develop a theme for each day of National Park Week, which participants should consider writing about.

  • The theme for Saturday, April 22 is connections.
  • April 23 (Sun): The theme is discovery.
  • April 24th (Monday): Theme achieved.
  • April 25 (Tue): The theme is tradition.
  • April 26 (Wednesday) The theme is gratitude.
  • April 27 (Thursday): The theme is originality and ingenuity.
  • Friday, April 28: The theme is inspiration.
  • Saturday, April 29 The theme is fun.
  • April 30th (Sun) The theme is love.

Other events are: ParkRx Day (April 22) Celebrate the “healing power of parks.” Here, visitors are encouraged to participate in individual or ranger-led activities to help initiate healthy habits. a virtual event (April 25) Celebrating young conservation leaders on Zoom.and junior ranger day (April 29), certain parks offer activities for younger visitors.
