Hawthorne Woods, Illinois — A boil advisory is currently in place for the village of Hawthorne Woods.
The advisory only affects Aqua Illinois water customers, according to an alert issued Monday.
“Due to the severe drought our region is facing, Aqua Illinois is dealing with low pressure and water outages in the Hawthorne Woods, Killdeer, and Lake counties public works systems. We are issuing a mandatory boiling water advisory asking all customers to use bottled water or boil all water for consumption.”
The village said the operations team is working to increase water pressure to restore full service as soon as possible. Until further notice, the village said it was “essential for customers to conserve water as much as possible”.
The recommendations also recommend avoiding all outdoor water use, limiting shower times, minimizing the use of washing machines and dishwashers, and not running water while shaving or brushing teeth. We ask customers to stop all non-essential water use.
If you have any questions, please call Aqua Illinois at (877) 987-2782.
