13-year-old boy shot in ankle Friday night in Austin

CHICAGO — A 13-year-old boy was shot Friday night while walking with friends in the Austin area.

The boy was walking down the sidewalk with a friend at 8:35 p.m. on Block 11-0 on North Roller Avenue when someone in a black SUV opened fire on them.

Bye was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to his left ankle.

No one is currently in custody and police continue to investigate.
