10-year-old dies after trampoline center fight in California
Merced, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A 10-year-old boy died Thursday after a brawl at a trampoline center in Central Valley, California.
Report time came out about the incident firstofficials said a boy, later identified as Anthony Duran, passed out while at the Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Center in Merced.
A first responder performed CPR and Durand was taken to a regional trauma center. Duran was listed in critical condition.Merced Police Department and announced on Monday that he died.
Subsequent investigation revealed that there was an altercation until the boy passed out.
According to the police department, Duran got into a fight with another child while playing basketball inside the trampoline center. Police said Durand collapsed and another child escaped.
Investigators said the incident was captured on company security video and received statements from 35 people at the scene, including staff, parents and children. They have also identified another child involved in the fight and are in contact with their parents.
The Merced community gathered Monday night for a prayer vigil in memory of Duran. A moment of silence and balloons were released in his memory. Durand’s family said there will be another memorial service later this week.
Meanwhile, detectives are working with medical staff and the Merced County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death. Police said they are investigating the case with the Merced County District Attorney to determine whether to file charges against the other child involved in the fight. yeah.
