On Wednesday, Guaranteed Rate Field welcomed several young athletes to play in the league. Miracle League Joliet Chapter. Believing everyone has the right to play baseball, Miracle League of Joliet’s mission is to provide opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.

The love of the game is at its peak, and the sight and sound of 30 outstanding young athletes swinging against the fence will put a smile on the face and beyond of the supporters.

“It’s really amazing that everyone put this together for themselves. They’re having fun, running around and playing,” said Isabella Gandor. Her son, Damien, plays in American entertainment and he is in first grade.

By Game 3, he was in full swing.

“The Miracle League has just started this season. The first two games were the hardest, but then we got used to it,” said Gandor. “Even though it was loud, he didn’t understand everything, but then he saw his jersey and knew what he was going for.”

For Wednesday’s game, each player wore a White Sox uniform and was on the field with volunteers to assist with at-bats and innings. Miracle players in his league were able to walk up, choose his music, and display their picture on the video board in center field, just like the big leaguers.

Speaking of big leaguers, Sox pitchers Tanner Banks and Lucas Giolito were on hand to provide coaching.

“That’s all. It means the world. You know, we make our living playing games. We’re all very lucky, but some kids aren’t so lucky.” said Jolit. “Their family had a lot to deal with.The kids had a lot to deal with. , that’s what makes what we do even more special.”

“It reminds me that I’m not just a baseball player,” Sheet said. “‘You can be a mentor. You can be a role model.’ That’s why these days are so much fun.”
