2 hospitalized after crash involving bicyclist along Lake Shore Drive

CHICAGO — Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash along Lake Shore Drive on Monday evening, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Fire officials say a driver hit a bicyclist after driving off the road in an area near Foster Beach in the 5200 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

According to fire officials, two people were hospitalized following the crash, a 19-year-old woman and a 54-year-old woman in serious condition. Authorities did not specify which of the two people involved was driving the car and which was riding on the bike.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the crash and authorities have not identified anyone involved.
