(NEXSTAR) – America is divided when it comes to top Thanksgiving side dishes, new study finds.
Campbell recently released “Both sides” report As we head into 2022, we asked Americans how they like to feel full on Thanksgiving.
The survey found that two-thirds of respondents preferred side dishes to main entrees, and the top five holiday side dishes were stuffed, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and mac & cheese. It turns out there is.
While stuffing topped the list in most states, the survey found that 22 states ranked mashed potatoes number one. Massachusetts was the only state split evenly when it came to the Turkey Day debate.
Campbell’s told Nexstar that it partnered with SWNS Media Group and Dotdash Meredith to conduct the investigation. The company’s research used data from Google Trends as well as social and traditional media.
For state-specific findings, the report found that stuffing could be called different names, depending on location. In Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, it is sometimes called “dressing.”
Residents of Arkansas, Alaska, and Idaho prefer not to touch each other, and residents of Maine, Washington, and Oregon are most likely to make sandwiches with leftovers.
However, choosing a side for Thanksgiving may not be the biggest decision many families make this year. new report from wells fargo With prices skyrocketing this year, it may make more sense for some families to take the stress out of the preparations by having their Thanksgiving meal at a nice restaurant.
Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index (CPI) data showed that grocery store price increases last year were almost twice as high as restaurant food prices (9.81% vs. 5.79%).
If price isn’t your issue and if you can afford to eat the same food for another year, you may need to try something new.
