Indianapolis (WXIN) – Over 40,000 heated blankets have been recalled as a risk of burns during use.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall concerns the Sunbeam® Queen Size Heated Blanket. The blanket was sold on Amazon and small independent stores nationwide from September 2022 to January 2023.
The recalled blanket wash label has model number 32810027 printed on it. The controller was removable and came in beige, ivory, light green, dark blue, light blue, burgundy, dark grey, light grey, and gray violet.
The recall was initiated because recalled heating blankets can overheat and pose a fire and burn hazard. So far, the company has received 13 reports of his overheating blankets. No injuries have been reported at the time the recall was posted.
If you have a recalled blanket, please stop using it and contact Star Elite for a full refund. To receive your refund, you must disconnect the power cord and mark an X on the wash label with a permanent marker.
