Lake County, Florida (WFLA) – A Florida man accused of hitting his wife with a Christmas tree was arrested Monday night when she asked for help with dinner.
Reported by FOX35 Richard Acheson, 52, has been charged after police responded to a domestic dispute at his Fruitland Park residence.
The altercation began when Acheson’s wife asked him to help cook dinner. reportedly “angered” him.
Atchison packed his things and got out of the car. But he went back inside because “he was drinking,” the news outlet said, instead telling his wife to leave.
As his wife began to leave, Atchison pushed her, picked up a Christmas tree that was in the corner of the room, and threw it at her, hitting her in the process.
According to FOX35, Acheson blocked the front door to prevent her from leaving.
He was imprisoned without incident in the Lake County Jail and held on $8,000 bail. He was released on Tuesday.
