New Yorkforty victories Amy Schneider capped off her big year by winning a hard-fought “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions episode aired on Monday.

Schneider, a writer from Oakland, California, won three tournament finals, narrowly beating Andrew Hee, a software developer from neighboring San Francisco, who won two. The third contestant, Sam Buttrey, was another Californian. He won his one game.

Schneider had a 40-game winning streak earlier this year. This is her second longest in the history of her show, a game that began when she defeated her Hell.

She said she wanted to compete again with him, known for his cold-blooded big bets on the show’s Daily Doubles, and was afraid of him.

“He was someone I knew could definitely beat me.

Schneider led He by $1,400 into Final Jeopardy, and the prompt was:

Correct Answer: “What is ‘Our American Cousin’?”

Both Schneider and He answered correctly, but Schneider made the bigger bet. She won the grand prize of $250,000, he came in second place to her for $100,000, and Buttrey won $50,000.

On April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was fatally shot and wounded by John Wilkes Booth during a performance of “American Cousins” at the Ford’s Theater in Washington.
