WLS-TV is looking for a part-time broadcast IT specialist
Duties include monitoring and supporting broadcast IT and traditional IT infrastructure. This individual needs to pay particular attention to the needs of broadcast IT, such as newsroom systems, graphics, and master control room equipment. Television stations are a demanding environment, and timely responses to email and other forms of electronic communications, zoom, team, telephone and cell phone-based communications are essential. You need to be willing to run a flexible schedule. The schedule can combine several weekends during the day, in the evening, and throughout the year.
Candidates need to have the solid ability to diagnose complex systems and be able to troubleshoot and fix serious problems when they occur. Other attributes of this position include the ability to work well in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments, the ability to work well in unsupervised roles, the ability to multitask remotely with others, and highly organized. Includes the ability to be transformed, the ability to take responsibility and triage in times of crisis. You need to learn at work, learn the aptitude to learn quickly from yourself or others, constantly train others, and create / maintain professional-level technical documentation.
This position requires a completed and verifiable four-year degree in computer science or engineering. In addition to Windows or MAC, you need a deep knowledge of the Linux operating system. You also need to manage your cloud platform and VMWare ESXi or Cisco USC. You need to have extensive knowledge of at least one scripting or programming platform such as PowerShell or SQL.
