Women and boys injured in a house fire in Antioch

Chicago (CBS)- A woman was seriously injured and a boy was burned in his leg in a house fire in Antioch, a northern suburb, on Monday morning.

After 9 am, Antioch firefighters were reported to have been trapped inside in response to a fire in the 2600 block of the unincorporated Antioch Forest Court.

When they arrived, they saw smoke coming out of all the windows of the house. The boy was found outside after being burned by his feat.

During the search for the house, firefighters also found a woman who was seriously injured.

Both victims were taken to the Advocate Condel Medical Center for treatment.

The fire was extinguished by 9:30 am after the house was severely damaged.

Early reports showed that the house did not have a smoke detector.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
