Woman rushed to hospital after Piria shooting Saturday night

PEORIA, Illinois (WMBD) — A woman was rushed to a local hospital in Peoria Saturday night with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Shortly before 9:30 pm on Saturday, police responded to 15 shot spotter alerts in quick succession near the 500 block of W. Columbia Terrace. On their way, officers were informed of an adult female victim at block 1300 on N. Flora Avenue.

When they arrived, officers found the victim with an obvious gunshot wound. She was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where her life was not in danger.

The shooting is under investigation and police have no information on the suspect at this time.
