Chicago — Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to sign HB4383 This makes it illegal to buy, sell, or own a gun without a serial number in the state, with a few exceptions.

Effective 180 days after signing, if it is found that you possess, transport, or receive a ghost gun, you will be guilty of a misdemeanor of Class A for the first breach and a felony of Class 3 for subsequent breaches.

The legislation passed Senate 31-19 on April 9, and House 66-36 the same day.

Pritzker will sign the bill at the event today at 10:15 am.
