Istanbul (AP) — Six suspects, including four Russians, were imprisoned until a trial was held on charges of conspiracy against Turkey’s Chechen dissidents, state-run TRT news reported Thursday.

The suspect has been detained on charges of “political and military espionage,” the agency said. They added that they were preparing “armed actions and espionage” against Chechen opposition.

The suspects also include one Ukrainian and one Uzbek citizen.

The report said they were first detained in the Mediterranean province of Antalya on October 8 in an investigation led by an Istanbul prosecutor. They are held at Maltepe Prison in Istanbul.

You will be sentenced to 15 to 20 years in prison for espionage charges.

Many dissidents from all over the Middle East and Central Asia have set up bases in Turkey and are occasionally targeted. Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist, was killed in October 2018 in Istanbul in a murder case in which Western intelligence agencies said they were organized by the government of Riyadh.
