LHASA, July 21 (Xinhua)-According to local governments, online retail sales increased significantly in the first half of this year (H1) in the Tibet Autonomous Region of southwestern China.
According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, total online retail sales during this period reached RMB7.42 billion (approximately US $ 1.15 billion), an increase of 66.2% over the previous year.
Among them, online sales of physical products reached 6.04 billion yuan, accounting for 81.4% of total online retail sales.
Based on improvements in the local e-commerce logistics distribution system, the region has promoted the expansion of county-level logistics distribution centers into towns and villages, launching the last kilometer delivery service in agricultural and idyllic areas. Growth points for online consumption.
The region has also trained a total of more than 75,000 e-commerce workers, including more than 67,000 farmers, herders and returning migrant workers. By the end of June, e-commerce had promoted more than 162,400 jobs in Tibet.
