New York, June 18 (Xinhua)-Amid weaknesses in the euro and pound sterling, the US dollar rose on Friday’s late trading.
The dollar index, which measures greenbacks for the six major peers, rose 0.39 percent to 92.2262.
In the second half of New York trading, the euro fell from $ 1.1914 in the previous session to $ 1.1872 and the pound sterling fell from $ 1.3925 in the previous session to $ 1.3817. The Australian dollar fell from $ 0.7553 to $ 0.7499.
The US dollar bought 110.14 yen, which was lower than the previous 110.24 yen. The US dollar rose from CHF 0.9171 to CHF 0.9217 and from CAD 1.2351 to CAD 1.2425.
