Baltimore – After all, the Cubs will only face the Orioles on a road trip to clubs in the American League East this week.
Wednesday’s second match of the two-match series scheduled for Baltimore was postponed due to heavy rain that prevented the match from progressing. The game will not consist until Thursday, August 18, when the Cubs visit the Camden Yard at 2:05 pm.
It worked perfectly for the club as they just completed the series in Washington, near the Nationals. Oriole’s will visit Wrigley Field later in the originally planned 2022 series for two contests, July 12th and 13th.
The Cubs lost the only match in the series at the Orioles 9-3 on Tuesday night, losing streak to three and dropping the overall record to 23-33.
Now the team is heading to New York for a three-game series with the Yankees starting Friday, and it’s a reunion with one of the previous faces of their franchise. Anthony Rizzo, who was an important part of the team’s four-straight playoffs and run to the World Series title, will face the Cubs for the first time in the series.
The first baseman, who signed a two-year contract with the Yankees this offseason, has hit .209 with 14 home runs and 38 RBIs in 55 games this season.
Today, New York is the best team in the major leagues, playing against the Twins on the streets on Thursday night before hosting the Cubs from Friday, boasting a record of 40-16.
