Today, Spirtgate developer 1047 Games announced that it has raised $ 10 million in a recent round of funding.
The company said the investment will be used to increase the server capacity and stability of Spirtgate, a free-to-play shooter.
In addition, the funds will be used to expand the development team.
The funding round was led by Human Capital. This follows the studio’s last round of funding earlier this year. Raised $ 6.5 million.
Splitgate has confirmed that 2 million players have played the open beta. This stressed the game’s existing servers. In response, 1047 Games has postponed the official release of the game to August to allow for online traffic.
“Our team was amazed at the amazing reception the Splitgate community showed us,” said Co-Founder and CEO of 1047 Games Ian Proulx.
“With the proliferation of players trying to access the server, we need to solve the myriad of technical issues associated with this level of extraordinary growth.”
