Arlington, Texas-Redshirt freshman quarterback Blake Chapen started on Saturday for fifth-placed Oklahoma and ninth-placed Baylor in the Big 12 Championship game to Gerry Bohanon, who was injured for the second straight week. Replaced.
Bohannon hasn’t played since injuring his right hamstring in the second half of the first half at Kansas State on November 20th.
Shapen made two touchdowns to Texas Tech last week, 20 yards out of 34 yards. This is the game Bears had to win to take part in the second Big 12 title game for the first time in three years.
Bohannon had some pre-match training and was in uniform, but his seat availability was unknown.
