Charlotte, NC (AP) —Saturday night, Charlotte Hornets defeated the Golden State Warriors 102-100, and Terry Rozier hit an off-balanced jumper from the left corner when the time was up.

Rozier, who scored 36 points, was the winner after Golden State Draymond Green was sent off in 9.3 seconds after receiving two technical fouls and claiming a jump ball result.

The Warriors were in the lead when officials determined that Hornets coach James Bolego called a time-out when Gordon Hayward got off the jump ball. Green soon began to fly around the court, tying Hayward when the Warriors were on the floor, and shouted to officials that it should have been another jump ball.

Rozier sank two free throws for a technical foul to connect it. He then took an inbound pass from the midcourt, drove to a corner to make a winning jumper, and was immediately attacked by his teammates.

Rozier scored 20 points in the fourth quarter for four consecutive 30-point matches.

PJ Washington finished with 15 points to help the Hornets overcome the season’s best 25 turnovers and defeat the Warriors without Stephen Curry.

Kelly Oubre Jr. led the Warriors with 25 points.

Curry experienced a warm-up, but was a slow scratch after getting sick during the warm-up. The team said the illness was not associated with COVID-19 and Curry was “sick.”

Curry was not mentioned in the team’s injury report and was introduced before the match, but at that point he was back in the locker room. Even Steph’s father, Dell Curry, seemed surprised. Elder Curry, the Hornets broadcaster, said in a broadcast, “Do you want to send a text message to his phone?”
