Collinsville police investigating deadly New Year’s shooting

Two men have died and two others are in custody after a New Years altercation at a Collinsville bar spilled into a parking lot and ended in shootings.

Ricardo Correa, 20, of Collinsville and Rodolfo Torres Granado, 24, of Granite City, were pronounced dead by the Madison County coroner in a parking lot behind 103 West Main Street. Collinsville Police Department.

A witness told investigators that a physical altercation began between a group of men and a single man inside Sloan in downtown Collinsville, according to a police statement. The fight was briefly broken up before reigniting in the car park.

“A group of individuals, including Correa and Torres Granado, were reported to have exited a vehicle armed with firearms and approached a Dodge Charger occupied by a lone male and female acquaintance,” the release said. I’m here.
