Partial human remains found in luggage on ranch in Texas

Tampa, Florida (WFLA) – Texas officials are investigating a suspected murder after a Bexar County ranch worker found a human remains in his luggage.

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a news release this week that the horrifying discovery took place around 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning.

“Some people who were feeding the animals here found some kind of duffel bag, part of their luggage, in the middle of the property,” Salazar said. “They launched an investigation and found what they believed to be a human remains.”

Salazar said the suitcase containing the body was not hidden or hid, but was left on the side of a hill.

“I didn’t have much trouble hiding the body, except it was in a suitcase,” he said.

Salazar said on Thursday investigators were still uncertain whether the victim was killed at the scene or elsewhere and abandoned on a ranch.

“The first tendency is to think this is a murder scene. …For a while, we won’t be able to determine the cause of death, how it died, or the identity of the victim,” Salazar said, adding that investigators have yet to determine the time of death or even the gender of the victim.

Salazar said there had been an “attempt to burn” something on the property in addition to the suitcase, but could not yet say whether the charred remains were related to the bodies.

“It could have nothing to do with the body.

The ranch owners were out of town when the bodies were found, sheriffs said. They are cooperating with the authorities.

Salazar said on Thursday that authorities planned to obtain a search warrant to “complete the processing of the scene.” Partial human remains found in luggage on ranch in Texas
