Ontario today reports 578 new COVID-19 cases and two viral deaths.

Health Minister Christine Elliott said that 408 cases were unvaccinated and 59 infected were partially immunized against the virus.

The new case number is based on 23,468 tests.

There are 111 people in the intensive care unit with severe COVID-related illness, and 72 patients are on mechanical ventilation.
