Newly released court documents detail Jackson Mahomes case

Overland Park, Kansas (WDAF) – Newly released court documents show police responded to a report of an assault at a restaurant in Overland Park, Kansas. Battery with Jackson MahomesHowever, it has led to even more serious suspicions.

Police responded to an Aspens restaurant on February 25, 2023 after a man claimed Jackson Mahomes pushed his son who worked at the restaurant, according to an affidavit in the case released Monday.

The employee entered a key code to unlock the restaurant’s office to retrieve a water bottle, according to documents, when he was shoved by Jackson Mahomes.

Investigators said surveillance video of the incident showed Jackson Mahomes pushing an employee.

Jackson Mahomes then tried to apologize to the employee, but the star quarterback’s brother added that he was off limits if he was in the restaurant room, according to the affidavit.

The charges against Mahomes grew even more serious that night when police questioned the owner of Aspen’s Restaurant.

The owner told investigators that they went to the office because Mahomes wanted to talk to her. She said Jackson Mahomes closed the door. According to her affidavit, the owner alleges that after the two entered the office together, Jackson Mahomes grabbed her by the throat, pushed her head back, and kissed her three times.

She told investigators she did not consent to any contact.

At one point, the owner pushed Mahomes away from her. He then told her not to tell anyone what happened to her, according to her court documents.

After Jackson Mahomes left the restaurant, the owner told two nearby employees what had happened and showed her neck with visible injuries, according to court documents. She also called her boyfriend.

The report said Jackson Mahomes returned to her office before arriving and told the restaurant owner what she could do for her business. The owner said Jackson Mahomes refused to leave the office until she gave him a hug.

After Jackson Mahomes left, the owner told her boyfriend what had happened. Her affidavit says her boyfriend kicked Jackson Mahomes and his group of friends out of the restaurant.

According to court documents, Mahomes was furious but eventually walked away.

The owner told investigators that Jackson Mahomes had been kicked out of the Aspens restaurant before and that the owner knew him because he was a friend of her former daughter-in-law.

Jackson Mahomes is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. A judge is expected to rule on his bond modification request. One of the join conditions is Mahomes not allowed to contact witnesses In that case. The request asks Jackson Mahomes to allow contact with four people on his witness list.

A preliminary hearing date is also scheduled during next week’s hearing.

Mahomes’ attorneys and the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office have not publicly commented on the case at this time.
