New Chief of Peoria Police Station Announced

Peoria, Illinois (WMBD) —The City of Peoria has announced that Eric P. Eshvaria has been appointed as the new police chief of the Peoria Police Station.

Echevarria has been a law enforcement expert in the city of Elgin for over 20 years. He has been in charge of operations, special investigations, and major investigations, and has been a resident representative for 15 years.

He is currently the police commander for the investigation of the Elgin Police Station.

“I want to make a difference in the history of Commander Eshvaria in the resident police program modeled here in Peoria after Elgin, his enthusiasm for his position, his focus on community engagement, and his community like Peoria. His desire was a powerful factor in his choice .. We welcome his ideas and experiences, “said Mayor Patrick Yurick.

Echevarria holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedictine University. He also served as Corporal of the United States Marine Corps.

Echevarria will assume the role of Chief on August 2, with a starting salary of $ 176,000.
