Netflix saw a significant increase in third-quarter earnings on Tuesday thanks to enhanced slate titles, including the Korean dystopian survival drama “Squid Game.”

According to the company, the number of subscribers increased 9% year-on-year to 213.6 million, exceeding the company’s forecast.

Netflix generated $ 1.45 billion in the last quarter, or $ 3.19 per share. This is an increase from $ 789.9 million a year ago or $ 1.79 per share.

Revenue increased 16% from $ 6.44 billion to $ 7.48 billion.

According to a FactSet poll, analysts expected an average of $ 2.56 in revenue and $ 7.48 billion in revenue per share.

The Los Gatos, Calif.-based share price rose $ 4.07 to $ 639 during non-business hours.

The company does not mention Fallout’s earnings press release surrounding the recent Dave Chappelle Special, which premiered earlier this month after the end of the third quarter.

Netflix said on Friday that it had fired an employee for disclosing confidential financial information about the amount paid to Chapel’s comedy special “The Closer.”

According to a Netflix statement, unnamed employees shared “confidential, external, commercial confidential information.”

Media watchdog group GLAAD said “anti-LGBTQ content” violates Netflix’s policy of rejecting programs that incite hatred and violence.

However, Netflix co-CEO Ted Salands told the manager in an internal note that the show wouldn’t cross the “hate line” and would stay on the streaming service.

Transgender employees and their allies are planning a strike in protest on Wednesday.
