Chicago (CBS)- A man detained in a shooting on the Near North Side had a criminal record and was asked for an arrest warrant at the time of the shooting.
Indictment against the 21-year-old suspect is pending on Friday night. CBS 2 has not identified him because he has not been charged yet, but police knew everything about him.
An arrest warrant was issued on January 4, this year, on suspicion of a previous gun. According to court records, he did not appear in court due to four counts of exacerbation of the illegal use of weapons.
Police said the shooting took place around 10:40 pm near Chicago Avenue and State Street outside McDonald’s restaurant and CTA Red Line station.
Chicago Police Department support. David Brown said there was a report of a previous discussion between two groups of 800 blocks on North State Street. The video shows executives splitting physical shifts between groups.
Approximately 30 minutes after the previous confrontation, the two groups returned to the scene and one of the one group began shooting the second group. Two people were killed and seven were injured.
Anthony Allen, 31, died at Stroger Hospital about an hour after the shooting. He was shot at the bottom of his back, officials said. The second man who died has not been identified. He died late Thursday at Northwest Hospital after being shot in his chest. Surviving victims include a 46-year-old woman whose foot was shot and six men between the ages of 17 and 31.
Brown said the suspect fled after firing at a group outside Chicago’s Red Line station, and police chased him on the CTA Red Line platform. The group followed the shooter into the Redline tunnel. Police said police had captured the shooter and recovered the weapon.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot talked about the suspected shooter on Friday afternoon about the dark future he may face.
“Think of the young man who shot last night. He is currently in custody and his life is now on a completely different trajectory, because he hurriedly settled the verbal quarrel with a firearm. “She said. ..
