Milwaukee, Wisconsin (WXIN) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning people of an outdoor freezer recall.

According to CPSC, the recall involves the U-Line Outdoor Series 24-inch built-in convertible freezer. It sold for approximately $2,600 at retailers nationwide from April 2017 to February 2020.

The recall was initiated because it could overheat and pose a fire hazard. So far, the company is aware of three reports of freezer fires. No injuries have been reported.

The recalled freezers have the following range of model and serial numbers printed on a plate inside the upper right corner of the unit:

Model number U-1224FZRSOD-00A. Serial numbers range from 1745627020001 to 1745627020009. 1746096040001-1746096040077; 1850469050001-1850469050003; and 1850469059001-1850469059003.

Anyone with a recalled freezer should turn it off and unplug it before contacting U-Line to schedule a free pick-up of the recalled freezer. The company offers free replacement options in the form of freezers, refrigerator drawers, or refrigerators.

You can contact U-Line toll free at 833-614-7788 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
