DECATUR — The Macon County Health Department said Thursday that two men with COVID-19, one in their 50s and the other in their 70s, had died.
Health officials have also announced 88 new COVID-19 cases in Macon County since the ministry’s Wednesday report.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic to 12,499, says Krystle Temple, a county health educator.
According to the latest statistics, there have been 216 COVID-related deaths in Macon County since the outbreak of the pandemic, and as of Thursday, 36 inhabitants had been hospitalized for the virus.
