K-POP Kang Daniel Leads Disney + Series as Part of Asia Pacific Fares – Deadline

Disney Closed the Asia-Pacific movie and television show set up for streaming services two years ago. Some of the fares set to run on Disney + rookie, A romantic drama set in the Elite Police Academy starring the K-POP sensation Kang Daniel, When Black pink: movie, A documentary about the popular K-POP group celebrating its 5th anniversary.

New APAC projects include live-action big events with scripts such as drama, comedy, fantasy, romance, science fiction, crime and horror, as well as Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Greater China and Australia. Disney said today that new APAC content titles will be available on streaming services later next year, depending on local availability.

Jessica Kam Engle, Head of APAC Content & Development at Disney, has announced a new content slate. “Our production strategy focuses on working with the best local storytellers in the region, leveraging our brand power, scale and dedication to creative excellence.”

Disney + is available in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand and will be available in South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan next month. The new project is part of Disney’s plan to turn more than 50 APAC originals into a green light by 2023.

Black Pink: Movie
The documentary, previously published by the chart-top Korean pop group, will be released exclusively at Disney + and the theater to commemorate its 5th anniversary. Watch the trailer here:
