Jacksonville African-American History Museum Opens, Legendary Crest Whitaker in Town | Sports

Jacksonville, Illinois (Wand)-The Jacksonville African-American History Museum held its grand opening following the celebration on June 16th.

For all of that, there was the legendary Crimson Crest Whitaker.

He is one of the athletes featured in the museum.

The Jacksonville African-American History Museum features national and local history from what happened in the city.

From articles about the city’s role in the citizenship movement to photographs and biography of famous local athletes, photographs and facts line up on every wall.

Whitaker says the museum provides a powerful message to visitors of all ages.

The Jacksonville African-American History Museum will officially open on 9 July and will open on Wednesdays and Thursdays as well as weekends.
