Italian energy firm says new gas discovered offshore Egypt | WGN Radio 720

ROME (AP) — Italian energy giant Eni announced on Sunday that it had discovered an important gas off the coast of Egypt in the eastern Mediterranean.

Eni said the discovery at the Nargis-1 exploration well was made at the Nargis offshore area concession.

Eni said it will further develop its offshore area thanks to recent awards for several exploration blocks. The concession area is approximately 1,800 square kilometers (approximately 700 square miles).
