Indians postponed due to white sox, snow and cold

Posted: Posted Has been updated:

Cleveland (AP) The Cleveland Indians have postponed Wednesday night’s match against the Chicago White Sox due to snow, cold and flooded fields.

Up to 4 inches of snow fell overnight in the Cleveland area, and the tarpaulins in the progressive field infield were still covered with snow. At that time, the match was held about 5 hours before the scheduled opening ceremony at 6:10 pm.

The AL Central team will make up for the postponement by playing a doubleheader on May 31st when Chicago next visits Cleveland. Two 7 inning games starting at 3:10 pm.

Behind the two home runs of the Most Valuable Player Award José Abreu, the White Sox won the game on Tuesday night 8-5 in frigid conditions.

Indians will launch a four-game series at home against the New York Yankees on Thursday.

Chicago will be off Thursday and will open a three-game home series against the Texas Rangers on Friday.
