Honeywell As quantum computing advances continue to accelerate over the next 18-24 months, the ability to replicate the results of quantum computing application workloads using traditional computing platform simulations is expected to end.

Subscriptions to the System Model H1 service are currently sold out, and each Honeywell quantum computing customer previously tried to adopt a different platform before switching to Honeywell, Uttley said. Uttley added that the company is currently moving towards making available third-generation system model H2 services that offer higher levels of unspecified quantum volumes.
Honeywell promises to increase the quantum quantity by a factor of 10 every 5 years. According to Uttley, the company has been able to quadruple the amount of quantum volume available in the last five months alone.
Quantum computers are more powerful than traditional computing platforms because they can process bits with both 0 and 1 values at the same time.But advances in quantum computing It never marks the end of traditional computers, Uttley has been added. Instead, it’s becoming clear that quantum computers and traditional computers are better suited to run different classes of workloads, Uttley said.
“These systems have been running in parallel for decades,” Uttley added. “Traditional computing platforms will not be replaced immediately.”
However, quantum computers are well suited to address complex computational challenges such as routing optimizations using chemistry, logistics and traffic management applications, as well as training AI models. In the latter case, quantum computers can identify the starting point for training AI models completed by traditional computers. For example, other more unwieldy problems, including applications of ways to reduce atmospheric carbon levels, can only be performed on quantum computing platforms.
It may take some time before quantum computing fulfills its full promise, and while the mechanics of quantum systems may not be widely understood, there is no turning back now.
