DEKALB CO., Illinois (WTVO) – A Rockford man will be charged Saturday afternoon following a police chase that ended in a fatal rollover accident.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputy said it responded to a call for the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy and other agencies to assist in a police chase in the Twombly Road neighborhood east of the county’s western border. The crash occurred before they arrived. The passenger was confirmed dead at the scene.
Driver Bradley Hale, 33, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Kishwaukee Hospital. Upon his release, he was transferred to DeKalb County Jail. Hale has been charged with aggravated driving and aggravated fleeing during license revocation.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are investigating the crash, along with the Illinois State Police.
