Elected Officials in Chicago, Candidates Mourn Death of CPD Officer

CHICAGO — Chicago Police Officer shot dead Wednesday While answering domestic-related calls, according to Chicago Police Department Supt. David Brown.

The officer, who has not yet been identified, was a five-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department.

News of the officer’s death prompted city and state elected officials to express their condolences.

The last Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty was Ella French, who was shot and Died during traffic stop On the southwest side of the city on August 7th. Her partner, Second Mate Carlos Yanez Jr., was seriously injured and continues to recover.
