DMX Death: A procession celebrating a fallen rapper at the Yonkers memorial service in Brooklyn

New York-Saturday, the final farewell to hip-hop artist DMX, who died in New York, began.

The procession called “Ruff Ryders 2 The Rescue: Ride 4 Life” began at the Yonkers Raceway near the Empire City Casino in Yonkers.

A monster truck carrying a coffin with “Long Live DMX” embroidered on the side of the vehicle played rapper music, leading hundreds of motorcyclists from the South Yonkers to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, north of New York City.

The memorial service was set to start at 4 pm

This event is not open to the public and may be restricted to close friends and family due to pandemic conditions.

For those who can’t get inside, the service’s video feed will be available.

No details were given about who was performing, playing, or speaking.

The organizer said in a statement that it would follow New York’s COVID-19 inspection guidelines and protocols. According to a statement, New York State limits the capacity of indoor arenas to 10%.

DMX, whose birth name is Earl Simmons, Died on April 9th After suffering from “catastrophic cardiac arrest”. He spent several days sustaining his life after being taken from his home to a hospital in New York on April 2.

The Grammy-nominated 50-year-old rapper delivered iconic hip-hop songs such as “Ruff Ryder’s Ansem” and “Party Up (Up In Here).” He has also starred in several films, including “Berry” and “Romeo Must Die.”

DMX was the father of 15 children.
