Crane collapses at Chicago station and trains in the city stop | Illinois News

Chicago (AP) —According to authorities, several city trains stopped on Wednesday after a crane collapsed at the Chicago Transit Authority station on the north side of the city.

No major injuries were reported immediately.

Chicago fire officials said a 200-ton drillhead construction crane had fallen when it was in use at around 3:30 pm.

According to transport officials, the crane fell off the railroad tracks and entered the alley.

A nearby building was evacuated and some locals were out of power.

Transportation officials have warned that train routes will be significantly delayed. Authorities were investigating the cause of the crane’s fall.
