Chicago sports bring some normality back to urban business

Chicago (WLS)-Chicago’s Sunday atmosphere and ambience is pure white, with two special sporting events bringing people back to bars throughout the city.

“It’s going to go crazy,” said Doc Anderson. “I won the Sky in the championship and I won the Bears vs. Green Bay.”

Fans gathered again at the bar to enjoy a sporty day.

“That’s cool,” said Regise bartender David Klingenberg. “We were all waiting for it for a while and were trapped inside the house and so on.

The Regis Bar in the South Loop is a popular spot for many Bears fans, and the Chicago Sky Finals match has added to the mood.

“Watching a match here is like playing a match,” said Donald Costecca. “Don’t forget to take the rides and shuttles from the game here, so it feels good. It feels good to be absent from work.”

Such a special athletic meet will also revitalize some of the city’s small businesses after overcoming the pandemic hurdles.

“As soon as things happened next spring, it pedaled on a kind of metal, and that’s it,” Klingenberg said. “”

It’s an atmosphere that only sports can offer, and it’s a normal feeling that Chicago missed.

“That’s all about the city,” Anderson added.
